DisneyLand's Clam Chowder Recipe & Review with pics.....

This was the third time I made this soup. It comes out perfect every time. This was the first soup recipe I ever tried making from scratch. It is SO easy to make! You just have to follow the directions carefully! I HIGHLY recommend you invest in a chopper. The first two times I made this I had to cut everything by hand! This time my chopper was SUPER handy & saved me at least an hour! It took me about two hours from start to finish to make this recipe. I got my $10 chopper at a William Sonoma Outlet a year or so ago. I use it ALL the time. It is one of my favorite kitchen gadgets. Here is what mine looks like:
It is also dishwasher safe

I love the measuring cups on sides! It comes with both mL & cups on each side.

Melted butter & veggies. Cook until tender

Mixed with flour & chicken cube

Just after adding milk

TADA!!!

Found these at Walmart to make with the soup! YUM!

I love making this soup in the winter time when it is freezing out. It reheats well too! I cooked this in a pot I got from Costco & just put the lid on it in the fridge. This serves about 6-8 people depending on how much you serve at a time. Enjoy!

Disney's Frozen Elsa Makeup Tutorial every day look...

Being laid off has me bored so I decided to do a fun, easy Disney makeup tutorial. I haven't filmed a tutorial in a long time so forgive my angles in a couple place but you'll get the drift of what I was trying to do!

Here is a link to my video & in the down bar on YT I list all of the products used. Feel free to ask me for a cheaper alternative if you need one! :) Enjoy!

Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge Review & Pics...

This place has been on my to do list for years! We were SO excited to try this place. This was also my official birthday dinner choice for our entire trip (December 2013). We love all kinds of food so I thought this would be a safe place to eat. We stood in line to check in 10 minutes early. The hostess asked if I was a Disney Cast Member?! I wish I still was! ;) We were given a pager & only had to wait 15 minutes or so.

The hostess who seated us was super friendly. We weren't in the main part of the restaurant but in the beginning portion of the restaurant. Our reservation was for 7pm on a Friday night. We were seated in front of this beautiful painting I had to take a picture of! We sat next to a family of three but after they left no one sat at that table again so we had more privacy.

I wasn't in the mood to drink any alcohol but my husband wanted to try the Oregon Flight of
Reds. He enjoyed them but he rarely comes across wine he doesn't like especially at WDW. ;)

Our waitress was excellent. I would recommend Brenda to anyone wanting to dine here.

On back of menu

First we had some bread and drinks while we decided to get the mushroom soup & cheese platter. I had a taste or two of his soup. It was very good but I'm not a huge mushroom fan. He loved the soup. He helped me nibble on the cheese plate. I would highly recommend the cheese plate or soup. It was a lot better than I anticipated! The bread & butter/oil was amazing too!

For our main course we chose the Pacific NW Trio and Filet Mignon. I tasted my husbands and it was melt in your mouth good. My steak was a HUGE disappointment. The cut did NOT seem like filet mignon quality at all. It definitely was hard to cut & had a sirloin kind of a quality. My husband agreed that the meat was a poor quality & wasn't very good. The service was slower since it is fine dining so I didn't want to wait another hour to eat something else. I should have gotten the salmon. :( I normally love getting steak from everywhere at WDW. This was the first time I was disappointed in a steak at Disney. I would urge you to try something else if you wish to dine here. I'm not going to cross AP off of my list forever. It just may take a few trips before we decide to go back.

"Filet mignon"

We shared the creme brulee trio to end the meal. I loved the chocolate one! The basil one was kind of a weird taste to me personally. I wasn't into it. I don't like coffee so my husband LOVED the mocha flavored one.

Since this is a signature restaurant be prepared to be here 2-3 hours dining. I will try Artist Point's again eventually. Everything but my steak was very exceptional. I was upset that we had to pay so much for a meal I really didn't like. In hindsight maybe I should have complained to get a good meal I enjoyed. Has anyone else had a similar experience here? I was SO let down with that steak. :(

My Mickey's Very Merry Xmas Party Fireworks Experience...

I have always been a HUGE fan of Wishes. It is by far my favorite show at any of the parks. I was so lucky to watch it every night when I worked at WDW. My husband calls me a Fireworks snob. Anytime we watch fireworks somewhere I get bored with them. I fell asleep one year for July 4th in Arkansas visiting his family OOPS! ;)

I recorded a bit of the Pre-Show & Fireworks Display at the Xmas Party. This was the only time that I almost cried at WDW! I love this show SO much! No one does it like WDW! Do any WDW Shows make you cry?

Disney's Boardwalk's Brownie Recipe & Review....

I don't know how or why but I have NEVER once been to the Boardwalk Bakery at WDW?! Seeing all the pictures online make me drool! It will be on my to do list next trip.

I found this recipe online this week & decided to give it a go. This is by far the BEST homemade Brownie recipe I've ever tried! I have tried Martha Stewart to Barefoot Contessa but none of those recipes compare to these! These are VERY easy to make. I plan to make these again in two weeks for our ski trip & might throw in some walnuts to the mix. Feel free to throw in your favorite brownie item along with this recipe. This is my NEW go to Brownie recipe for sure! My husband & I have been obsessed with these! These are SO fudgey & wonderful.

Recipe

2 sticks butter
2 cups sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup corn syrup
6 eggs
1 1/8 cup cocoa powder
6 Tbs. vegetable oil
2 cups flour
Cream the butter and sugars together.  Add the cocoa powder and corn syrup. Mix until blended.  Add the eggs, one at a time.  Mix in the oil.  Finally, mix in the flour.
Grease and flour (or spray with the baking spray that has flour in it) a 9×13 pan.  Spread the batter in the pan and bake for about 45-50 minutes at 350 degrees.
Mine took 45-50 minutes. It all depends on your oven. If you make these please let me know your thoughts. What are your favorite kind of brownies?

Mixer Attachment I used to make these. This was a HUGE time saver for me!

Disney Stock Changes

Late last year Disney made a huge change to stop giving out stock certificates to those who buy Disney stock. When I graduated from college my mom got this for me & I still own my Disney stocks of course. :) I love mine & display it in my office along with my Mousters degree from the Disney College Program. Now we can see Disney is even trying ways to cut costs in parts of it company. It is sad in a way they will no longer do this but understandable in the costs this must take. It seems nowadays that the paper stock certificate is that of the past & soon to be an artifact. Sad but true. I'm glad my mother got me this years ago!

Does anyone else have one?

Flame Tree BBQ Review & Pics...

This was our very first time ever eating in Disney's Animal Kingdom. I'm not sure what took me so long?! I must admit I wanted to try this place because I heard amazing things about the onion rings. THey were worth it! The line was a little overwhelming but it went by very smoothly & quickly. I was very impressed. They had a lady handing out menus in the long line so you knew what you wanted by the time you got to the register. This place has a ton of seating as well. Even though it was pretty crowded we had no issues finding a table for two people.

We were both boring & got the pork sandwich, onion rings to share & drink. The sandwich comes with  homemade coleslaw. My hubby loved it a lot. I'm not into coleslaw so just ate the onion rings & pork. :) The cashier & food runners were very friendly & efficient. There were two different sauces. The regular one is a sweet BBQ with a slight kick NOT much & the other one was a tad spicy. I used the sweet BBQ & my hubby used the spicier one. I ate my whole sandwich & we shared the onion rings. The pork was very moist & delicious w/ the BBQ sauce. They have stations set up where you have to get your own sauces near the condiments. The onion rings were crispy & delicious!

Our total came to: $30.62. It is a bit pricey for a fast food meal lunch  in the park but we loved everything we ate. It all tasted so fresh. You can find the recipe to the BBQ sauce on many websites. I might have to try making it sometime!

We will definitely come back here for a lunch for sure! :)

The chairs were so cute!
