Hersheypark Spring Creek Smokehouse Review & Pics...

Hersheypark Spring Creek Smokehouse Review & Pics...

One of the hardest things in my opinion these days is to eat decent food at amusement parks. I am one of those people who will research to have the best fast food at a theme park. :)

You will NOT be disappointed at Spring Creek Smokehouse. This is our second time eating here. We were a little disappointed that they took away the pulled pork with cornbread waffle but the food here is still just as good.

The menu is set up that you pick your protein for one choice & if you would like extra sides that will be an added cost.

Our friends got the turkey leg & that thing was massive! I shared the half of chicken with my friend while my husband ate the ribs. You are getting your  $$ worth with the turkey leg & ribs! I have NEVER seen ribs with that much meat on them anywhere in my life!

RIBS

chicken with baked beans & cornbread muffin

Ribs with mac & cheese

The only bad thing my husband had to say was that the plastic knife that they gave out wasn't strong enough to cut his ribs & he had a hard time eating it. Trust me when I say he ate ALL his ribs! We were all super impressed with how much meat it came with. I would say you can definitely share the Turkey leg & ribs between two people at least.

I loved the baked beans. They are homemade right there & a little on the sweet side. The cornbread is not loaded with a ton of sugar & tasted like the real deal corn bread muffins to me. My chicken was very juicy and the BBQ sauce on it was good too. You can opt not to get the BBQ sauce if you do not want it.

On your next trip to Hersheypark you definitely need to try out this awesome place to eat!

Have you eaten here? What are your thoughts?

Hersheypark Yuengling 1829 Pavilion...

Hersheypark Yuengling 1829 Pavilion

We were SO excited to find this new beer pavilion at Hersheypark! You can find the new Yuengling 1829 Pavilion next to the Spring Creek Smokehouse BBQ place.

Top of the tables

This is a standing area place only but they have a bunch of tall tables. It was a hot day but under the pavilion it gave us a nice shaded place to eat & drink.

The park was really busy on the day that we went but the beer line wasn't crowded at all.  You can order a Golden, black & tan, or Lager for $9.00. You are not allowed to leave the pavilion with your alcohol so you must drink it & finish it there.

Our group decided to get BBQ from next door & order some beers from here. They are just pouring large cans into a plastic cup for reference. It is a perfect chill place to hang out for a bit.

Hersheypark Turkey Hill Ice Cream Review & Pics...

As you all know I am a HUGE ice cream fan! Out of all of the theme parks my favorite ice cream place to go to is one of the Turkey Hill stores in Hersheypark.

There are two locations for the Turkey Hill specific ice cream at Hersheypark. One of them is right around where the ferris wheel is in the back of the park which is a larger ice cream shop type place. It is kind of like the Main Street Ice Cream Parlor at Magic Kingdom. I got my ice cream from the stand that is around the corner from the Storm Runner Roller coaster.

We found that the Turkey Hill ice cream shops opened a little bit later but that might be because we went to the park in early June & their summer session wasn't in full force.

You order at the first window & they will give you your treat. You will then proceed down to the next window to pay the cashier. It was SO hot on the day that we went that we all had to eat our ice cream as we waited. The girls in front of us kept changing their order so it took a little longer than usual in line.

I ordered the twist Regular size cone. I might try the dipped soft-serve next trip. This ice cream is just a something extra special than your ordinary ice cream. I highly recommend trying here on your next trip! Nothing compares to Turkey Hill ice cream in my opinion! ;)

Wyndham Midtown NYC Hotel Review w/ Pics & Video

Wyndham Midtown NYC Hotel Review w/ Pics & Video

You can find the Wyndham Midtown at 205 E 45th St, New York, NY 10017. It is a quick walk to Grand central & there is a Duane Reade really close incase you forget anything. There is a really good German Restaurant next to it that I will write about next time. Also the Comfort Diner across the street has a very good breakfast but is really busy. I think we waited 10 minutes before being seated.

Here is a video link to our room:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkSoP9WYgnM&t=1s

This is one of the nicest Wyndham timeshares we have stayed in. An added bonus was our room was the only one to have a HUGE patio besides the Presidential suite that we know of!

We checked into room 1802 for this visit for reference.

It had a decent amount of living space for it being NYC. Last time we came to NYC our hotel room was like a small walk in closet so this was a huge upgrade for us! The sofa is a fold out couch too.

They have this cute table where you can play checkers or chess. The table doesn't pull up or out or anything.

There wasn't a lot of space in the bathroom so I ended up putting my makeup station at the dining room table. I liked the updated decor in this place a lot. You can see a window in the right hand corner & it does open. Also the soundproofing for this place was excellent.

There is a small dishwasher & glass stovetop range.

The microwave was hidden above the stovetop in the cabinets.

We loved that it had some space in the fridge to store wine or champagne. They do have a wine opener in the room. ;)

It does have an ice maker which we loved. The freezer is on the bottom portion.

The shower was kind of weird to use but has directions. I felt the shower/tub was VERY deep/high to get into so I'm not sure how an older person or anyone w/ difficulty stepping high would enjoy this kind of bathroom. There was no vent fan in the bathroom but I noticed in the shower there was a huge vent for air to escape to even though nothing was powered. I found the counter in the bathroom to be lacking but it is NYC & they are trying to save room in every nook & cranny. I had to move all of the hotels stuff to make room for my skincare & bathroom toiletries. :)

I did enjoy watching TV while showering on our trip. :)

They have Toto toilets here! They are very loud & powerful! They have a lot of backsplash so be aware of that!

There are 2 closets in the bedroom that are the same size along with a shelf on top. No dressers in this room due to the size. There is a safe in one of the closets.

The bed was SO comfy! The side table on the right had a huge area to place stuff & the bed frame has an outlet for you to charge your phone on the right side. :)

Part of our enormous patio! We had an AMAZING view of the Chrysler building! We felt like ballers staying here. The patio was our favorite part of our stay.

Day View

Night View
We enjoyed drinking wine & eating cheese at night on our patio.

Overall we loved staying here & are going back in a couple of weeks! We hope to get the same room. *crosses fingers*

The staff is very friendly & helpful. Our train arrived to NYC at 10am so they held our bags so we could walk around the city until they texted us when it was ready. By the time we finished lunch it was time to go up & see our room.

My in-laws are Timeshare owners so we never do the timeshare meeting they try & make us do. The girl was really pushy & asked us at least 5x about signing up to get free breakfast & free gift card but we didn't want to waste our time doing that.

The cool thing about the elevator is you press in what floor you are going to before you enter inside the elevator. I have never seen that before anywhere. They do offer free mimosas & wine & cheese events on different days to timeshare owners where there is a patio to look out the city on but we didn't partake with our limited time.

Have you stayed here?

Disneyland White Chocolate Raspberry Cookie Recipe ....

It has been forever since I have posted a new Disney recipe so I figured it was time. These are a bit challenging for beginner baker but if you are used to baking a lot then you will be just fine w/ this.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 egg and 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup white chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 3 tablespoons raspberry jam, seedless

INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cream together softened butter that is very soft but not melted with the brown sugar and sugar until light and creamy. Add egg, egg yolk, vanilla, and almond and mix until combined.
  3. Add in flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt and beat until combined.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips and white chips.

  1. Separate the dough in half. I put half of the dough in bowl and spread it out with my hands about 1 inch thick. With 1 1/2 tablespoons of jam I put tiny little dollops of jam all over the dough. Then I cut it in carefully with a butter knife. Don't stir it in or your dough will turn pink.

  1. Roll carefully into balls using about 2 to 3 tablespoons of dough per cookie.

  1. Place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Gently press down on the top of each cookie. (not a lot, just so that it's not a perfect ball anymore). Chill the dough balls for 15 minutes and then bake in the oven for 11 to 12 minutes.
  2. Remove from oven and let cool on the pan for about 5 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.
  3. Then repeat with the other half of the dough, spreading the jam throughout the dough, regrigerating, then cook. You should get about 12 large cookies. 6 cookies out of each half of the dough.

These were VERY messy to make & I wasn't that impressed with them but I'm not a huge raspberry fan. Give them a try if Raspberry is your vice. ;)

Epcot's Food & Wine Twinings Pumpkin Chai Tea & Caramel Milkshake Recipe

Epcot's Food & Wine Twinings Pumpkin Chai Tea & Caramel Milkshake Recipe

I had this at the Epcot Food & Wine Festival a few weeks ago & have been OBSESSING over it! I know it is basic but the caramel vodka gives it that edge it needs. You can always just use regular caramel syrup if alcohol isn't your thing. You can find it at the Ireland Booth with or without vodka.

I got my tea off of Amazon. I couldn't find it anywhere. Link Below:

Just throw everything in a blender until smooth. 16 ounces = 2 cups of ice cream as FYI.

Drink slow & enjoy! I drank mine too fast & got a little buzzed but I am a huge lightweight. ;)

Disney's Nomad Lounge Review & Pics...

Disney's Nomad Lounge Review & Pics

We had some time to kill on our last trip & decided to see what all the hype was about at the Nomad Lounge. We had two days at Disney's Animal Kingdom so decided to stop in real quick for a drink.

Bar Area

Menu
Special Coasters

More comfy seating in back of bar area

We enjoyed the Nomad Lounge SO much! It is by far our new favorite bar inside the parks! All of the outside areas on patio were taken but we actually really loved the comfy lounge areas inside. We came here on a whim & decided to make an ADR at Tiffins because of our visit to the bar. We only had enough time for one drink so had to head out pretty quick. If you haven't seen my Full review & pics of Tiffins please click here:http://yohoyohobloggerslifeforme.blogspot.com/2016/12/disneys-tiffins-restaurant-at-animal.html

I tried the Hightower Rocks & my husband had the Annapurna zing. I  liked the drink I had but I wouldn't get it again after tasting my husband's drink. His drink was SO refreshing & amazing! It was definitely something new & different to try. This is my new go to cocktail here! I got it when we ate at Tiffins.

Have you tried the Nomad Lounge yet? What are your thoughts on it?
