MY Disney Snow globe collection...
I don't have many but I love my globes. I was lucky to get two of these at a cheap price while I was a cast member at WDW. They had a tent in back of MK that they called Property Control. They had overstock & slightly damaged items for very discounted prices. I'm sure it is still there for cast members. I got a ton of great stuff there. I still have a 2000 WDW sweatshirt,t-shirts,Cinderella tins etc that I got there. My mom gave me the Mickey one for xmas one year. Luckily I got these in 2000 before 9/11 so I could carry them on the plane so they wouldn't break. Pardon the dust :) They are on a super high shelf LOL

The American Idol Experience...
This experience is located at Disney's Hollywood Studios. I admit I haven't watched AI since Simon Cowell left the show. They have a few shows a day & a finals round at night. If they win they get a free golden ticket to skip the line to any AI Audition to have a shot. I know that quite a few people who got the golden ticket at WDW made it to the top 10 I believe.
You sit in an auditorium & the stage is quite impressive at least to me. They do back stories like on the real AI & it is cute. They have three fake judges that act like Simon,Paula,&Randy. Each chair in audience has a voting pad. It is quite easy to use. We went twice in same day to see who got through. My pick didn't make it though. :(
If you like music & a fun show this is a great way to get inside for some cool air conditioning. Just make note of the times schedule in the park map when you get there because they don't have shows constant all day. They also have an area earlier in morning where you can audition to be one of the three singers in the AI Experience.

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party Review & Pics..
Last October was my very first time to the Halloween Party. It was just me & my hubby so we weren't sure what to expect with no kids. You can enter the park starting at 4pm for the party & not have to wait until 7pm. It was very hot & humid that night so I'm glad I had a light costume. I was Abby Womack from the US Women's Soccer Olympic Team. Hubby was a Kansas City Royals Baseball Player.
As soon as you enter Magic Kingdom they have a photographer set up to take your picture in front of the park. As well as the Haunted Mansion Area & next to Sleepy Hollow area. Those picture were magic photos I will post below.
Last year when we went they were selling these CUTE light up Mickey popcorn buckets! Of course I had to have one. ;) They also sold Halloween themed treats & cupcakes. Sadly I did not try any of those to report back.
As soon as the party started we had dinner reservations at Liberty Tree Tavern which was nice. When we were done we walked out front & the parade was going to start in 15 minutes. We had a perfect viewing area. I will say I do enjoy the Xmas party more BUT the Halloween Parade is amazing! I think it is much better then the Xmas one personally. It was very rainy all week & we lucked out it stopped that night. We got drenched in Epcot earlier in the day. We were both awed by the parade. The Haunted Mansion ghosts & Headless Horseman were my favorites!
The only "bad" part about the party was the Villains Meet & Greet. It was VERY unorganized & I kept getting pushed. There were no real line queues or anything. I gave up & left. I was disappointed not to meet the Evil Queen & Maleficiant. :( I was starting to get sick & it was our last night at WDW. We stayed until 11:30-12am I believe. I don't think I will ever go back in October unless we have kids. :)
All in all it was a fun party. If you've never been I highly recommend it. We were there the first week in October & the crowds weren't too bad that week either. It was just way more humid then we were used to. We normally go in November when it is cooler. I love the music they play in the park during the party too!

Fairfax Fare Dinner Review at Disney's Hollywood Studios...

My hubby was OBSESSED to try the famous turkey leg. When we were at Magic Kingdom that line was always forever long. Before Fantasmic we had a quick dinner. He LOVED his choice & it will be his new staple treat I'm sure. I chose to eat the half of chicken & beans combo. I hated the beans. They were NOT sweet BBQ beans like I thought. I ended up giving them to my hubby. The chicken was just okay. It was juicy & the spices were good I was just disappointed. I should've went for the mac & cheese hot dog looking back. What was I thinking?!

Red Velvet Cake & Cream Cheese Icing Recipe...
I know this isn't a Disney recipe but wanted to share an actual good recipe for red velvet. I was not impressed w/ the red velvet cupcake at DHS. It was so dry I threw it away! I have made this cupcake recipe into a cake two times with no issues. People always come back begging for more with this cake!
Like I said I use this recipe in a standard cake pan. I bake at 350 degrees for 30-35ish minutes but am constantly checking on the cake.
Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups cake flour (not self- rising), sifted
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened Dutch-process cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1/2 teaspoon red gel-paste food color
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 teaspoons distilled white vinegar
STEP 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Whisk together cake flour, cocoa, and salt.STEP 2
With an electric mixer on medium-high speed, whisk together sugar and oil until combined. Add eggs, one at a time, beating until each is incorporated, scraping down sides of bowl as needed. Mix in food color and vanilla.STEP 3
Reduce speed to low. Add flour mixture in three batches, alternating with two additions of buttermilk, and whisking well after each. Stir together the baking soda and vinegar in a small bowl (it will foam); add mixture to the batter, and mix on medium speed 10 seconds.STEP 4
Divide batter evenly . Transfer tins to wire racks to cool completely before removing. Cake can be stored overnight at room temperature, or frozen up to 2 months, in airtight containers.STEP 5
To finish, use a small offset spatula to spread cupcakes with frosting.Cream Cheese Frosting:One 8 oz softened cream cheeseOne stick softened butterOne cup sifted powdered sugarOne teaspoon vanillaBlend all very smooth & creamy. This recipe is just enough for the cake! It is pretty good icing. This is a known staple in my recipe box.
