Joy of Tea Frozen Peach Schnapps Review...

When I worked at Disney my go to liquor mixer was peach schnapps. You could say I was a bit over excited when I found out about this. Sadly it did not live up to its name. Maybe I built it up to be too awesome that it couldn't live up to that? It had way too much tea in the drink for my taste but I dislike the taste of tea. If you love tea & peaches you will probably love this. I'm not sure why but I thought a slight tinge of tea flavor wouldn't bother me. I was going to throw it away but my friend insisted she drink that and her Margarita. HAHA Joy of Tea is located in the China area of Epcot. Next trip I plan to try the orange grand mariner slushie!

Vista Way Apartment Information...

I've seen a lot of people ask what is exactly in the Vista Way Apartments so I thought I'd write out this blog to help out the newbies. ;)

When you first walk in there is a coat closet. Depending on the number of bedrooms is the layout. The first bedroom is to your right & the other bedroom or two are in back of the apartment. The front bedroom has its own bathroom while the other bathroom is in the back of the apartment.

The Bathroom includes a cheap & nasty shower curtain. I highly recommend you bring your own! Right outside of the bathroom in bedroom one there is a vanity area with sink & medicine cabinet with underneath sink/storage area as well. The closets in the bedrooms should have lockers but you need to supply the lock. I had my credit card stolen & lots of my food taken so it would be wise to invest in one! :)

The Family room has a couch,oversized chair, table, TV table, & you can rent a TV w/ cable from the Clubhouse if you want. We paid for the TV cable but honestly I was so busy I rarely ever watched it. :) I'm a HUGE TV person too but when you are there you are either working,partying,or at the parks,pool,etc....

The Kitchen is a basic set-up with a long counter. You could probably buy some bar chairs if they aren't already supplied. When I lived there we didn't have any. All the plates,silverware,pots,pans etc are included in the apartment. If you want tupperware or that kind of thing you will need to supply that. There is a locked utility room in back of the apartment as well. You will need to buy all your cleaning supplies like: mop,spray cleaner etc That goes for the bathroom too.

My bedroom included two twin beds, 2 night stands, a Large dresser for you to share with your roommate. My 1st CP I lived in the back bedroom (2 bedroom) My 2nd CP I lived in the front bedroom(3 bedroom). I did NOT like the front bedroom. I heard most of the noise & my roommates used to sit on our front porch & talk all night. Most of them worked late shifts or at Pleasure Island then while I worked mid-day Fantasyland shifts so it was hard at times to get sleep. I was in a Non-Smoking apartment both times but my 2nd CP my roommates smoked in it all the time which sucked. My roommate ended up moving upstairs because of it.

Decorate your place to make it your own. When I was there Abercrombie & Fitch was HUGE so we cut out A&F clothes & taped them up in our apt it was cute! They do offer Wellness & Non-Welness Apartments. It basically means if you want to live w/ people who drink alcohol or not. Bring your own sheets! I regret not doing that. The ones you are given are not nice!

Moving to Vista Way was my very first time away from home. It was the first time I had to do dishes, laundry,etc. Be patient with those kind of people. I was SO homesick my first CP I lost 15 lbs. It took me a month & half to be able to eat. I stayed the full time on both of my programs. I was a VERYYYYYYYYYY shy person before my DCP but now am much more open than I used to be. It really did help me in a lot of ways. Washers & Dryers were on the First Floor when I was there.

I suggest bringing  computer if you can. They have computers at the clubhouse but they had us on a timed usage system when I was there. The Clubhouse was great. They had ping pong,weight/aerobic room, You could rent videos or sports equipment as well.

Vista Way is walking distance from Walgreens/Liquor store,ChickfilA,Wendy's,gas station,etc....Vista Way offers buses that go to Super Walmart if you are worried about groceries & getting supplies you need for work. ATM's are on property as well.

Quick tips:

• ALWAYS have your Vista Way ID on you at all times!
• Lock up anything you find valueable. It is better to be safe than sorry!

This picture was taken back in 1999 when I first started working at WDW. It is located pretty close to Magic Kingdom. They had SO many classes/seminars you could sign up for & a ton of training classes as well. Looking back I should have taken more advantage of those opportunities. They had a small D University store where you could buy Cast Member only items as well as the Cast Member Credit Union where you signed up for your bank account. We had ATM's at Vista Way so that is where most people got money out for the most part. I took a few classes here but for the most part I worked at All-Star Music too much on my first college program.

I took more advantage of Shadowing & Training on my other College Program.

Chocolate Cream Cheese Buckle from Cinderella's Royal Table Recipe...

I bought this cook book on my last trip to WDW in October 2012 & am excited to try some new recipes from it. I read good reviews on the Chocolate cream cheese buckle recipe so decided to try to make it myself. I thought this was going to be an over complicated baking item but it was truly easy! You just have to prepare three separate things & add them together right before baking.

Please buy this attachment if you want to save a lot of time in your baking :)

These cupcakes are out of this world! The last Disney cupcake recipe I made I was unimpressed but these were amazing! I will definitely keep this my recipe box. I made medium sized cupcakes & followed the same heating instructions. I made 16 medium sized cupcakes & checked on them often. Only you know how hot/cold your oven is so be aware of that since everyone's is different.

Kona Cafe Breakfast at Polynesian Hotel Review...

I love the guy sitting behind us & his Figment hat! We were there for the 30th anniversary of Epcot. :) 

After many months of researching the best places for breakfast I kept hearing amazing things about the Kona Cafe Breakfast. I randomly made an ADR for this place two weeks before our trip & was lucky enough to snag an 8:30am ADR. This is located next to O'hana's at the Disney Polynesian Resort. We checked in at the desk & had to wait 5 minutes or less. My hubby was most excited about drinking the Kona Coffee. We went to Hawaii for our honeymoon & he said it was the best coffee he ever had. You can purchase the Kona Coffee in the Polynesian gift shop but it does have a hefty price tag. 

Our waiter was excellent but I cannot remember his name unfortunately. We ate here in October 2012. We were going to Universal this day but I convinced my hubby it would be worth the trip for breakfast! I'm not sure what they do to the bacon here but it was the BEST bacon I've ever had in my entire life!!! No exaggeration! 

I ordered the Tonga Toast with Strawberry compote & he ordered the Big Kahuna Breakfast with the Kona Coffee. The coffee is served in a french press. It came out to be around 2.5 cups for him. I do not drink coffee so he was excited to have all of it to himself. ;) You can also get the tonga toast at Captain Cook's at the Polynesian but it does not come with the strawberry compote there unfortunately. You can also get a dole whip there as well for a quick tip. ;) 

My hubby loved his breakfast & cleaned his plate. I loved the tonga toast but after an hour it was a bit too much for me. I was a pig & ate most of it myself. DisneyWorld calories don't count right? ;) You can ask for more Macadamia Nut butter if you need some or compote. The compote was so good I could drink it out of the bottle. HAH. I would recommend an early reservation for breakfast if you can get one. We will be back here for sure!

Dealing With Rain at WDW

No one ever wants rain to ruin their vacation especially at WDW. I have been to WDW many many times & this was the first time I ever had to deal with the rain. For most of the week it was okay. We bought ponchos for $11 I believe each. I wanted to see Illuminations really bad & my husband never saw it before so it was my mission to get them. They look like the ones from picture above. I didn't think Illumination was worth the wait but I remember it back in 1999. They changed it since then. :( We were dumb & didn't bring the ponchos to Fantasmic the next night so we had to buy a Planet Hollywood Umbrella.....HAH Fantasmic was SO worth it! It is by far my favorite show at WDW besides MK Fireworks. 

It POURED our last day at WDW. It was pouring so bad my hubby & I were stranded in a bathroom near Norway in Epcot for 30-40 minutes. We had Mickey's Halloween Party to go to that night so shopped at Mouse Gear a bit & went to MK a little early to change into our costumes & what not. Basically you have to be prepared & bring ponchos or love the rain. :) Luckily the rain cleared up as soon as we got to MK & never started again. Maybe the rain was just at Epcot? It POURED the night of our Spirit of Aloha show but they still had it but it was a terrible experience... It was a VERY COLD rain too. I don't wish rain on anyones WDW Vacation! Be smart & go to Dollar Store before your trip for ponchos.

Normally the lines are a lot lighter during the rain. They only shut down outside rides if there is lightning. I wish everyone weather luck on their next trip! We were there in October. Never again! Too hot & humid for me. I will stick to November or December!

Disney Room Ideas...

When I got home from my Disney College Program I was SO depressed! I missed all of my friends & Disney. My mom was very sweet & redecorated my room while I was away one day. She did this all herself & by hand. My mom is a great artist & decorator. She gets bored w/ rooms quickly & redecorates here house every few years.

Above is my MICKEY license plate that I now have on my car, Graduation ears, Pooh, Dumbo, & some other Disney stuff I got while I was down there.

My mom painted this cabinet in my room for me as well! I am a bit obsessed with Mickey so I can never say "no" to anything Mickey!

Mickey is saying " That is what I'm Talking about" This was around the same time Seinfeld was popular & my mom said that phrase A LOT. I think it was Seinfeld but maybe it was a different show? HAHA

Whenever we have kids I hope to have my mom paint us Mickey's in that room too! :)
